Getting Started with Omni

Everything you need to know to have your first conversation with Omni.

Getting Started with Omni

Omni is your go-to for everything happening in your business. Need to check how sales are going, schedule a meeting, or find out what customers have been asking? Just ask.

Think of Omni as the person who always knows what's going on — the one you'd turn to and say, "What did I miss this morning?" It works with the tools and systems you already use, so you don't need to change how you run things.

Where to find Omni

You can talk to Omni in whichever way suits you best:

  • The dashboard — open the chat from any page on your Omniops dashboard. It's always there in the corner, ready when you are.
  • The iOS app — have a conversation on the go, wherever you are. Everything stays in sync with the dashboard.
  • Your messaging channels — if you've connected WhatsApp or Slack, Omni is there too. Same knowledge, same context, whichever channel you prefer.

All your conversations and business context carry across, so you can start a conversation on your phone and pick it up on the dashboard later.

Your first conversation

There's no special syntax or commands to learn. Just type what you need in plain English, the same way you'd message a colleague. If you can describe what you need, Omni will understand.

Here are a few good places to start. You can type any of these exactly as they are:

  • "What happened in my business today?" — get a quick summary of orders, messages, and anything that needs your attention
  • "Show me this week's revenue" — see how things are tracking financially
  • "Schedule a meeting with Sarah tomorrow at 2pm" — Omni handles your calendar so you don't have to switch apps
  • "Any new leads this week?" — find out who's shown interest recently
  • "What's running low in stock?" — stay ahead of inventory issues before they become customer complaints
  • "What have customers been asking about on the website?" — see what's coming through your chat widget

A few things worth knowing

You don't need to be formal. "How are sales?" works just as well as a detailed question. That said, the more context you give, the more useful the answer — we cover that in Tips for Better Results.

Omni remembers your business. Over time, Omni builds up an understanding of how your business works — your goals, your preferences, the way you like things done. You won't need to repeat yourself.

Some actions need your approval. If Omni is about to do something significant — like sending an email on your behalf or processing a refund — it will ask for your go-ahead first. You're always in control.

You can correct it. If Omni gets something wrong or misunderstands, just say so. It adjusts and learns from the correction.

It works with your files too. You can share photos, documents, and spreadsheets directly in the conversation. Need a supplier quote summarised or a photo attached to a return claim? Just drop the file in and tell Omni what you need.
