Google Workspace Integration

Connect Google Workspace to let Omni manage your email, calendar, and documents.

Overview

The Google Workspace integration connects Omni to your Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Contacts, Sheets, and Forms — enabling you to manage your productivity tools through conversation.

Setup

  1. Go to Integrations in your Omniops dashboard
  2. Select Google Workspace
  3. Click Connect with Google
  4. Sign in with your Google account and grant the requested permissions
  5. Select which services to enable

Available Services

Gmail

Omni can read, draft, and send emails on your behalf:

  • "Do I have any unread emails from clients?"
  • "Draft a reply to Sarah's email about the proposal"
  • "Send a follow-up to the team about the project deadline"

Email drafts require your explicit approval before sending.

Google Calendar

Manage your schedule through natural conversation:

  • "What's on my calendar today?"
  • "Schedule a meeting with the design team on Thursday at 3pm"
  • "Move my 2pm meeting to 4pm"
  • "Block off Friday afternoon for focused work"

Google Drive

Omni can find, open, and save files in your Drive:

  • "Find the returns policy in my Drive"
  • "Save this report to Drive"

You choose how much of your Drive Omni can see. On the Google Drive access card (Integrations → Google) you pick one of two modes:

  • All of Drive — Omni can open any file in your Drive when it needs to. Google asks for broad "see all your files" access.
  • Selected files — Omni can only open the specific files you pick through Google's own file picker. It reads those and nothing else, a limit Google itself enforces (not a filter we run on our side).

To use Selected files:

  1. Choose Selected files on the access card.
  2. Approve the narrower "files you select" level when Google asks. This replaces the broad access.
  3. Click Add files and pick the documents Omni should see. You can pick several at once.

Add or remove files any time. Removing a file just stops Omni opening it — the file stays exactly where it is in your Drive.

There is no "selected folders" option on purpose: Google only grants access to the individual files you pick, so a folder can't be a real boundary. It's whole-Drive or specific files, where the limit is genuine.

Google Sheets

Omni can read and update your spreadsheets, so the sheet you rely on stays current:

  • "What's the current stock in my inventory sheet?"
  • "Add this order as a new row in the orders sheet"
  • "Update the price for that product in the pricing sheet"

Sheets uses its own Google Sheets permission, separate from the Drive Selected files limit. In Selected files mode Omni won't browse your Drive for spreadsheets, but it can still work with a sheet you point it to directly (for example by pasting its link).

Google Forms

Omni can work with your forms:

  • "How many responses did the feedback form get?"
  • "Create a form to collect supplier details"

Google Contacts

Look up contact information:

  • "What's Sarah's email address?"
  • "Show me contacts from Acme Corp"

Permissions

Omniops requests only the permissions needed for the services you enable. You can revoke access at any time from your Google Account settings or from the Omniops integrations page.

Important Notes

  • Google Workspace tools are business-only — they are never exposed to the customer-facing chat widget
  • Email sending always requires explicit approval
  • All credentials are encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption
